On Sunday, 3 February the South Northants Disability Forum will host taster sessions for a range of sports, including: aqua aerobics, badminton, swimming, football, tennis and rugby, plus fun games and refreshments.

Cllr Karen Cooper, South Northamptonshire Council’s portfolio holder for Wellbeing, said: “Those with a disability face a whole host of barriers to exercise.

“It’s not just the council’s responsibility, but a personal passion of mine to remove any barriers to an active and healthy life and this event will give people with disabilities, their families and their carers a glimpse of what is possible.”

A range of agencies, such as Northamptonshire Carers and Autism East Midlands will also be providing advice and support at their information stands.

The event is open to anyone with a disability and their families and carers and there is no need to book.
