Stay Active Towcester is designed for people over 50 years old who do not regularly exercise and aims to give them an easy first step towards a healthier lifestyle.
The group has been set up by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC), Legacy Leisure and Grand Union Housing and takes place every Wednesday at Towcester Centre for Leisure between 12:30pm and 3pm.
Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC’s portfolio holder for wellbeing, said: “Most people dream of long walks in the countryside or running around after grandchildren as they grow old.
“If you don’t regularly exercise I urge you to come along and help us help you to keep that dream a reality.”
The sessions cost £5 and feature aqua aerobics, badminton, short tennis, games and a complimentary tea or coffee.
