The countdown is on to the half term activity programme after a summer which saw record attendance.

South Northamptonshire Council’s (SNC) holiday sessions for five to 15-year-olds run from Monday, 22 to Friday, 26 October in Brackley and Towcester.
The programme puts fun and creativity on a level playing field with sports. Dance, games, arts and crafts are lined up alongside everything from tag rugby to hockey, basketball and swimming.
Parents can book up until 5pm on the evening before their chosen session.
Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC’s portfolio holder for wellbeing, said: “We have seen a remarkable increase in attendance on our holiday activity programme with the addition of the new Towcester venue this year. I expect that lots of the children who attended for the first time over summer will return.
“The programme is much healthier than being glued to the TV or computer during the holiday and also offers the chance to make new friends and learn new skills.
“While our online booking system offers considerable flexibility, we’ve already taken a high volume of reservations, so I do encourage people to plan ahead to avoid disappointment.”
Taking place at Magdalen College School, Brackley and Towcester Centre for Leisure, the activity sessions cost the equivalent of just £2.40 per hour.
All the staff leading the sessions have passed Disclosure and Barring Service checks. The programme is open to children aged five to 15 years old and are split into two age groups, five to seven-year-olds and over-eights.
Full day sessions, from 8.45am to 5pm, cost £19.40 while the shorter session, 8.45am to 3pm, costs £15.30.
