It is hoped as many people as possible will take part in a fun run around the picturesque Towcester Watermeadows this autumn to raise money for the hospices which serve South Northamptonshire.

On Sunday, 14 October the Chairman of South Northamptonshire Council (SNC), Cllr Richard Dallyn hopes the district’s community will join him in raising money for his chosen charities: Katharine House, Willen, and Cynthia Spencer hospices.
He said: “The Watermeadows are currently underused and we thought this would be a great way to introduce new people to this wonderful public space.
“And for anyone who keeps putting off that lifestyle change, this could be their first step towards a longer and better life.
“Finally, there are few things certain in life, but the need for compassion and support at the end of it are a universal one.
“So if you already know the Watermeadows and already exercise regularly, please join me in raising money for the vital services provided by the district’s hospices.”
The Fun Run will feature two races: 3 miles for those who want to challenge themselves, and 1.5 miles for fun runners, walkers, dog walkers and families.
You can register to take part via Eventbrite.
