Towcester’s Community Fun Day takes place at the Islington Road Recreation Ground on Saturday, 26 May between 11am and 3pm.
Brackley’s Play and Activity Day takes place at the Leisure Centre in Springfield Way on Friday, 1 June between 11am and 3pm.
Cllr Karen Cooper, South Northamptonshire Council’s (SNC) portfolio holder wellbeing, said: “Between SNC’s activity programmes and the youth and sports clubs in each town, there is a wide choice for young people.
“These free events will give them a taste for what’s available and will hopefully encourage them to take up a sport or activity which will help them form a lifelong habit of being healthy.
“And if the weather’s good it will be a chance for everyone to come out and enjoy a picnic in the sunshine alongside the rest of their community.”
The events will feature: a bouldering wall, Tricky Trail Mountain Biking, the Smoothie Bike, Youth Activators and a bouncy castle.
The Towcester event will also include the Rotarian’s Duck Race and tours of an SNC waste and recycling lorry, while Brackley’s event will include a DJ workshop, trampolining and gymnastics taster sessions and free gym inductions.
These events have been organised by SNC, Brackley Town Council, Towcester Town Council, Legacy Leisure, and both the Towcester and Brackley Youth Engagement groups.
