We purchased the Watermeadows in two phases in 2009 and 2011 to open up the land fully to the public for the first time, and to encourage and protect biodiversity.
The Watermeadows is a designated public open space and forms part of the Grade II* listed Registered Park and Garden of Easton Neston estate.
We have recently been awarded a grant of £147,000 from the Water Environment Grant to support river habitat and flood alleviation improvements at the Watermeadows. The works will be informed by a Feasibility Study, which is currently being undertaken by Five Rivers Environmental Contracting. No works on site will start until next year, although you might see some surveys being carried out around the Watermeadows.
We're also making two other bids of funding, which will focus on the visitor experience, accessibility and recreation opportunities at this already much-loved public space.
