Disability Sport

We believe everyone, no matter what their ability, should have access to sport, recreation and physical activity.

We are members of the South Northants Disability Sports Forum which aims to increase the number of disabled people involved in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity within the district.

The Forum

  • Acts as a collective voice for disability sport in South Northants
  • Brings together sports clubs, third sector organisations, local agencies and of course the council
  • Develops partnerships in order to break down barriers faced by disabled people in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity
  • Ensures disabled people have access to sporting opportunities at a level of their choosing and ability, in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity
  • Empowers disabled people to make a positive contribution in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity.

The South Northants Disability Sport Forum organises special events from time to time.

To mark the opening of a new pool at Brackley Leisure Centre, the next Have A Go event is at the centre on Sunday 3 February 2019 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

This is a free event that is open to anyone with a disability and their families and carers. There will be a range of sports and activities for people to try plus a number of information stands. No need to pre-book, people can just turn up on the day.
