Parish updates

We are unable to hold regular Parish Forum meetings with Parish and Town councils, during the pandemic, so we are producing a regular newsletter to ensure that our parishes are kept up to date with news and information to aid their fantastic local response.

We are aware that many Parish and Town councils are working with local groups and residents to deliver some innovative and really positive solutions to help local people during the pandemic and we'd love to help share these: please email us at healthy.communities@southnorthants.gov.uk.

If our parishes have any outstanding concerns or need additional resources please contact the Community Resilience Hub.

News

On 15 June the government changed the rules to permit holding indoor markets in community buildings. It is anticipated that wider reopening will be allowed from 6 July. ACRE have produced a helpful guidance document for those managing village halls. It looks at how village halls can prepare risk assessments, ensure social distancing once open and introduce effective cleaning regimes. There are practical resources including checklists, notices for display and sample terms of hire.

We have recently received additional government guidance for households who are registered as shielding who have received food parcels they do not want, which you may want to pass on.
