Pay your Business Rates

By Direct Debit

Paying your Business Rates by Direct Debit is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to pay. Payment will be made on the 1st of each month.

Direct Debit safeguards and guarantees apply. No change in amount, date or frequency can be made without notifying you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited. In the event of any error, you are entitled to an immediate refund.

You have the right to cancel a direct debit instruction by writing to your bank or building society, with a copy to us.

Set up a Direct Debit mandate online

Direct Debits can also be set up online or over the phone, you will need to provide:

  • Your bank or building society name
  • Account number
  • Sort code
  • Branch address.

Business Rates Instalments

Payment of business rate bills is automatically set on a 10-monthly cycle. However if you wish to pay over 12 months contact us at revenues@southnorthants.gov.uk as soon as possible quoting your Business Rates account number.

We also accept payment bi-annually, or in one lump sum at the beginning of the year.

You can pay over the phone using our Touch Phone service at any time using Maestro, Delta, Visa or Mastercard.

By post

Make your cheque or postal order payable to "South Northamptonshire Council". It must be crossed "account payee only" and have your business rates account number on the back. Post to:

In person

at any Post Office or Pay Point in the country. You must take your business rates bill with the barcode on it along with your payment. You can also pay at a Payzone location.
