Think Local and Support Small Businesses
Think Local – Shop Small on Small Business Saturday, 5 December 2020
To restart and restore the local economy it is essential that everyone in the community supports each other. Remember to keep it local when you shop, eat, drink, stay and play.
South Northamptonshire has some amazing local traders and we are urging everyone to support local businesses this year in the run-up to Christmas (and beyond). Small businesses are essential within our community, so please make sure to Think Local – Shop Small to make a big difference.
This year, our local shops and businesses will be taking part in this national initiative and are preparing to help you make this Christmas something to look forward to. Check out your local shops online before and after 5 December to find out about their offers and great products to incentivise keeping it local.
To help you find your own set of local favourite places to shop, eat, and stock up, the Small Business Saturday Team have created an interactive map so you can see exactly where local participating businesses are located. You can also visit their websites and social media to see what is on offer for the day (and in the lead up to Christmas).
In addition to shopping with our small businesses, here are some other ways that you can support our local businesses which won’t cost you a thing:
- Like what you see: Photograph it and tag your local business on their social media
- Engage: Retweet or re-post a small business on social media
- Like what you bought: Write a great review for your local business
- Does your favourite retailer have a newsletter? Subscribe for regular updates and specials
- Talk the talk: tell your friends and neighbours about where you love shopping in South Northamptonshire
There are so many excellent local businesses to choose from, you can’t go wrong shopping locally.
Follow us on Twitter for more news and updates about special offers and more from our local small businesses. Let us know what great offers, or what items you’ve purchased or found, so we can share and promote our local businesses on Small Business Saturday.
Don’t forget, the local community needs you to Think Local all year round for all of your needs, from hiring services to purchasing goods, so make sure to Shop Small. Keep it local and together we can help restart our local economy.
