The Chairman of the Council for 2018/19 is Councillor Richard Dallyn
Richard and his family came to South Northamptonshire in 1988, and have lived in Yardley Gobion and Blakesley, before settling in Towcester in 2004.
After university, Richard trained as a journalist before joining the BBC where he worked as a news presenter and reporter before becoming a political correspondent for Independent Radio. He was a well-known frontman on LBC in London before becoming a lead presenter on BBC Radio Five Live.
He has been a media training consultant since 2004.
Richard’s late wife Diana was a SNC councillor becoming vice-chairman.
Richard has been a councillor for Towcester Brook ward since 2015. He has served on the Scrutiny and Planning Committees of SNC, and has also been a Towcester Town Councillor.
Richard has three children, one of whom lives in Australia, which has been one reason why Richard has travelled widely over the years.
His main passions include horse racing – he’s a regular at Towcester races; following England cricket, and supporting Arsenal football club.
Richard will be raising funds for the three hospices that support our district during his year in office: Willen Hospice, Katharine House and Cynthia Spencer.
