The Chairman of the Council for 2017/18 is Councillor Fiona Baker
As an Army daughter, Fiona grew up in the UK, Malaya and Germany.
She has lived half of her life in towns including Oxford, Abingdon, Banbury, and now Brackley – and the other half in the North Oxfordshire villages of Hanwell and Horley.
Educated at Cheltenham Ladies College, she has qualifications in both leisure and retail management and is a qualified professional Photographer. She is also a qualified aerobics and riding instructor. She has worked in all these areas and also as a Director and co-owner of a PR and Advertising Agency.
Since retiring Fiona has concentrated on her work as a Councillor, first as a Town Councillor for Brackley and then as a South Northamptonshire District Councillor.
As a Town Councillor she has been Chairman of the Direct Responsibilities Committee and Brackley Town Mayor. At South Northamptonshire Council she has served on the Finance and Planning Committees.
Fiona is married with a daughter and two grandsons who live in Brackley and she has a son in Northampton. After her family, Fiona’s main passion away from her civic duties is Charlie Brown, her beloved Irish Sports Horse which she enjoys riding whenever she can.
