Pay your Council Tax
Pay by Direct Debit
The most convenient way to pay your council tax or business rates is by Direct Debit from your bank account. Please have your Council Tax Account number, Bank Account number and sort code ready.
If you need to change an existing direct debit please call 01327 322190.
A third party can pay your Council Tax or Business Rates via Direct Debit using the relevant form below.
You can pay using our online payment system. We accept payment by VISA, Mastercard, Switch/Maestro and Visa Delta.
Pay by phone
You can pay over the phone using our Touch Phone service at any time using Maestro, Delta, Visa or Mastercard.
Call 01327 322350 and follow the instructions.
Pay at Post Office or PayPoint location
Cash payments can be made anywhere you see the PayPoint sign. Post Offices will accept payments by cash, cheque or debit card.
You can also pay by Girobank payment at the Post Office.
Our account number 4145127. You must quote your name, address and council tax account number. Please allow five working days for Girobank payments to reach us. Please note, Girobank may make a small charge for this service.
Pay by post

- in a covering letter or
- on the back of the cheque / postal order

Pay in person
You can pay in person by cheque or debit and credit card only - we cannot accept cash at our offices.
We are open between 9:00am and 5:15pm Monday to Friday.
Pay by Standing Order
If you wish, you can set up a standing order with your bank to pay your council tax.
The Council's bank is Natwest and you will need to credit our account:

You must quote your council tax account number as a reference. Please allow five working days for standing order payments to reach us.
Please note - this is an expensive way for us to collect payments. We would prefer you to pay by Direct Debit if you are able to help us keep our costs down.
