Online Planning Information

The one click way to perfect planning

If you are looking for online information about planning go to the Planning Portal. They are open for business here 24 hours a day 7 days a week. On their site you will find interactive tools and services and all sorts of useful planning information – on top of the information you will find on this website.

You can also use the computers in our Planning and Building Control reception at the main Council offices in Towcester to access any Council related service on the web but these can be especially useful for planning applications site research. You can use the machines without an appointment (during office hours), and our staff will be happy to get you started on them.

The reception is open for business Monday to Thursday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm, and Friday 8:45 am to 4:45 pm. Contact us if you need more information.

Commenting on Planning Applications

The views of local people are very important and are taken seriously by the council when it looks at planning applications. We welcome your comments, whether you support or oppose a particular planning application.

To help you get your views across to us, we have put together some do's and don'ts. You can find them by clicking on Comments on a planning application. You make your comments online using a simple form, either from the application on the Online Planning Register or by clicking here.

Planning application lists

We publish a weekly list of all applciations recieved, decided and ammeded. You can view these lists by clicking List of planning applications and decisions. However if you want to find specific applciations it can be a lot easier to search the Online Planning Register.

Planning meetings – agendas, reports and decisions

Decisions on the majority of planning applications are made by officers under what is called "delegated powers". The more major, detailed and controversial applications are generally decided by the Development Control Committee.
You can see the list of decisions for the next committee – and minutes of old meetings - by clicking on Committee minutes, agendas and reports.
