SOUTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL STANDARDS COMMITTEE STANDARDS COMMITTEE (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2008 REGULATION 20 (2)

28-Jan-2010

SOUTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

STANDARDS COMMITTEE

STANDARDS COMMITTEE (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2008 REGULATION 20 (2)

Notice is hereby given that, at a meeting of the Standards Committee of South Northamptonshire Council on 8 January 2010, the Committee found that a former member of Roade Parish Council, Mr Glenn Dudman, had failed to comply with the Code of Conduct of Roade Parish Council.  The Committee specifically found the following breaches of the Code:

a)                 wrongful disclosure of confidential information;

b)                 failure to treat another person with respect;

c)                  bullying of a person; and

d)                 conduct which could reasonably be regarded as bringing Mr Dudman’s office as Parish Councillor into disrepute.

The above findings were made in the light of various incidents which took place between March and May 2009 involving Mr Dudman and two complainants.  The Committee considered an Investigating Officer’s report and verbal and written evidence before coming to its conclusion that, on the balance of probabilities, the alleged misconduct had taken place as alleged by the complainants.

The Committee resolved that Mr Dudman should be censured.

Mr Dudman has the right to request an appeal against the Committee’s findings and decisions by serving notice on the President of the First Tier Tribunal (Local Government Standards in England).
