Brackley to watch the Grand Prix on a giant TV screen

17-Jun-2009

A giant screen will be erected in Brackley to give free live viewing of next Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone when hopes will be high for the local Brawn team.

Brackley Rotary Club is organising the event outside Brackley Leisure Centre, Springfield Way starting at 12 noon.  The giant screen, 10m x 10m, is being provided by South Northamptonshire Council.

Entrance is FREE but a collection will be made to support Rotary’s international campaign to eradicate polio.

Brackley Rotarian Paul Bennett said: “This is an exciting event for families and all interested in motor racing.  No doubt there will be strong support for the Brackley-based Brawn team.

The Leisure Centre staff will man their bar and barbecue. Alternatively people may wish to bring a picnic.  All should bring their own seating, if required, as none will be provided.”

“Also it will be impractical to move indoors and therefore the audience should be aware of the conditions, being prepared for rain or sun.”
