Managing your Rubbish
In South Northamptonshire, each household produces about 1 tonne of rubbish every year. But what happens to the rubbish once the council takes it away? The answer is that most of it is buried in holes in the ground called landfills. We are rapidly running out of space in landfills to bury our rubbish in and the ones that we are already using are causing pollution and problems for generations to come. Burying our rubbish is also a waste of resources which could easily be turned into new products.
So how can you do your bit? Over 60% of your rubbish can be recycled or composted. Please click on the links below to find out more about how to manage your waste efficiently.
