Sheltered and supported housing schemes give people the chance to live more independently.
Since March 2008, those schemes previously run by the council are now owned by the new housing association, South Northants Homes, who are also responsible for maintaining them. A number of other extra care facilities are also owned and managed by other housing associations in the South Northamptonshire area.
Although we no longer own any housing stock, we are still responsible for the housing register. This means we can nominate people from the register who have particular support needs to these properties.
To qualify for sheltered or supported housing you need to be over 60 years of age and have a care need. If you are interested in this type of accommodation and think you may be eligible, you will need to apply to join the housing register by completing a housing application form.
A number of services are also available to help you stay in your own home.
