Flooding

In recent years there has been a noticeable change in weather patterns. We now experience more intense periods of weather, long dry spells, extended colder periods and more intense storms, all of which give rise to their own problems.

Periods of prolonged wet weather and intense storms brings with it the threat of flooding, sometimes from swollen water courses and sometimes from overflowing drainage systems unable to cope with the extra loads.

Northamptonshire County Council now has responsibility towards flood planning. They may not be able to help in the case of flash flooding but they should be made aware of any incidents so that they include affected properties that may have been missed on the flood plan. If you think your property should be included contact Northamptonshire County Council on 0300 1261000.

Information about Northamptonshire County Councils role in respect of flooding can be found on their website.

Whilst the council no longer provides emergency help in the event of flooding we would offer the following advice to householders at risk of flooding.
