The Planning Portal is the first port of call for anyone who wants to find out more about the planning system. It is available to you in conjunction with South Northamptonshire Council.
The site offers a host of useful service tools and services that complement those found on the Councils own site.

Online Application Register (***Please note the Disclaimer and Copyright information below)
An online planning application register is provided for you to search for any planning applications submitted since 1974. Searching is possible by Parish, Address, Applicants Name and Planning Reference. Full details of the applications are provided including received, registered and decided dates, decision (including any conditions and reasons attached to the decision), appeal information, details of the current applications status and much more.
The register is updated on a daily basis each morning and includes all applications received, decisions and appeals. A 10 stage status field is provided to help you establish where you are in the planning process. The register has links out to the councils mapping and committee information systems. It is also possible to submit representations on any application using the online form.

Interactive Planning Maps
The Interactive Mapping area provides details of Planning Application and Constraints information such as Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Flood Zones, etc overlayed onto maps of the South Northamptonshire District. Aerial Photos of the district can also be viewed.
The Information pointer will allow a user to obtain planning history related information about a given point. A link in the results area allows the user to obtain more detailed information about the application using the planning register (se above)

Commenting on Planning Applications
The consultation expiry dates on each planning application are displayed within the online register and you may make comments using the "commenting on planning applications" screen. You may e-mail you comments or use the electronic form provided. You should bear in mind, in order for your comments to be considered we need to receive them before the deadline set out in the notification letters, site notices or press advertisements and summarised on the register. However, we will still consider comments received after the deadline, provided that the decision has not already been taken.
Planning Lists (including weekly list of planning applications)
Recently received applications and decisions can be found here. These lists are supplied in addition to the online planning applications register described above and are published on a weekly basis (however the planning register provides this information on a daily updated basis).
Committee Agendas, Officers Reports and Minutes
Development Control Committee pages give access to the agenda’s, committee applications schedule (which include the full officer’s reports) and committee results. The agenda is made available the week before committee and results are published the following morning with the full minutes being made available with following committee agenda.
Online Application Submission (Click here to submit an application through the Planning Portal)
It is now possible to submit online planning applications through the Planning Portal. The facility offered will allow documents to be attached to the online application and a fee to be paid electronically. Where a site location plan is not possessed it is possible to purchase one online during the submission process. For full details please follow the link to the Planning Portal.
Online Planning Document and Form Libraries
Online documents for downloading include Planning Forms, Local Plan, Local Development Framework and Proposals Maps. There are many other useful documents available for download from the Planning Document Libraries. If there is a particular document you are unable to locate please contact the Planning and Leisure Division for assistance.
