 Animal Welfare

We all love our pets, but pet owners also need to make sure their pets are well looked after, do not cause a nuisance and do not risk the health or safety of local people.

Where we can we want to help pet owners to do the right thing, but we also take action on complaints from our customers. We deal with everything from barking dogs to dealing with witnessed dog fouling incidents.

Cruelty to animals is generally dealt with by the RSPCA, but in future the Animal Welfare Bill will let us take action to prevent suffering to pets.
