Fun Run and Cycle is a success!
One hundred and fifty people took part in the second annual Fun Run and Cycle on Sunday 22 June at Towcester Racecourse, organised by South Northamptonshire Council and Run for the Children to raise money for charity.

Council publishes its Performance Plan
South Northamptonshire Council has published its annual Performance Plan detailing the Council’s plans for 2008/9 and beyond.
The plan, which is aimed at Council staff, councillors, partners and interested parties, is the Council’s key strategic document that set out longer-term aims for delivering continuous improvement.
It also describes how the year ahead is one of transition. The Council has developed a new set of priorities for the next three years and an updated set of actions and objectives to achieve these. Download a copy of the performance plan (pdf document approximately 5mb).

Latest update on cryptosporidium in water
The Council is aware that Anglian Water has issued a number of boil notice cards to customers who are outside the affected area.
If you are one of these customers we ask that you act on the advice of the card and boil your tap water for drinking, food preparation and teeth cleaning and for giving to pets, until you receive further notification from Anglian Water in the form of a green all clear card.

Council warning on land near Hesketh Estate
South Northamptonshire Council is advising anyone who is investing in greenfield land near Hesketh Estate in Hulcote, Towcester, that planning applications for residential development on the land are likely to be refused.

Bug found in water across Northamptonshire
Please be aware that traces of a bug known as cryptosporidium has been found in water across the Northampton/Daventry area. Anglian Water are advising people in the areas affected that they should boil drinking water before using it.
There are only a small number of parishes within South Northamptonshire district that have been affected. These are Grange Park, Bugbrooke, Harpole, Kislingbury, Milton Malsor, Upper Heyford, Nether Heyford, and Rothersthorpe. Please note that if you do not fall within this area, no further action is required. The Emergency Planning Team have met today to discuss how the Council are going to deal with the affected areas.
