What the Council wants to do
Our job is to help deliver a better quality of life for the people of South Northamptonshire.
We are clear about where we want to go and how we will get there. All this is set out in a lot of detail on this page.
What we want to do (our Vision)
We will show strong leadership across South Northamptonshire, to preserve what is special, protect the vulnerable, enhance performance and encourage potential.
What will we do first (our Priorities)
Our priorities change from year to year depending on what local people tell us, the important things that need to be done and the amount of money and people we have to do the work.

How do we make sure we deliver all this?
To deliver all this, we have to:
- line up all our strategies and plans with the vision and aim
- have good financial planning and management
- set hard targets and put all our efforts into meeting them
- work with our partners to deliver what local people need
- communicate well with everyone involved with the council – from customers to our own staff
- make sure our councillors and staff are skilled and informed
- listen to local people so that our plans and services meet their needs
This is a council with its own style and values that will help us deliver the right things to the right people every time. We are a council that:
