Youth Activators

Youth Activators is an exciting new three year project that delivers free, informal sporting sessions in a range of local community settings for young people aged 14 -19. The project uses sport to engage with young people and to challenge anti-social behaviour in targeted areas. In addition, the project will assist young people and community volunteers - youth leaders, coaches and sports club members - to gain qualifications and to develop their self-esteem and confidence.

Partners

Our partners in supporting this project are South Northants Homes, Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs and Daventry and South Northants Community Safety Partnership.

Sport England

The project has received £82,773 of National Lottery funding from Sport England's Community Sport Activation Fund.

Official Launch

Andrea Leadsom MP officially launched the project at an event at Brackley Leisure Centre on Friday 7th March 2014. The event also included the presentation of a cheque from Sport England by Chris Perks, Director Local Relationships, and an opportunity to see a Youth Activator session being delivered.
