The Mercedes F1 team in Brackley plan to build a 251-space multi-storey staff car park at their base in Reynard Park after planning permission was granted by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC).

Cllr Roger Clarke, SNC’s portfolio holder for planning and environment, said: “There were no local objections to this proposal; in fact it was actively supported by Evenley Parish Council.

“We echo their feeling that it signals a continued and welcomed commitment to the area from this world leading organisation.”

The Environment Agency and Northants County Council’s Highway Engineer have confirmed they have no objections to the scheme and the local lead flood authority (also Northants County Council) is considering further application details to ensure that the development will not increase the risk of flooding.

The SNC planning committee approved the proposals on the basis that that those concerns are answered before Tuesday, 3 October.
