Moat Lane Regeneration - Public Open Space

Bury Mount

Bury Mount is a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM) and has been at the heart of Towcester since medieval times. The Bury Mount regeneration was designed by Camlin Lonsdale and was opened for public use in April 2010. It included stabilising the SAM, creating a new access to the top of the mount via a ramp and stairway and providing seating. There is a historic timeline carved into the circular path that runs up the mount, depicting key dates in Towcester's history.

South Northamptonshire Council acquired the Grade II* Registered parkland which was formally part of the original Easton Neston Estate and covers over 60 acres near Towcester town centre. The Watermeadows opened in 2010 and the second phase in 2012 and is now available as public open space.
