For the second year running, community and voluntary groups are encouraged to attend a Funding Fair taking place at Towcester Racecourse on Tuesday, 6 June from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

Hosted by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC), Daventry District Council (DDC) and South Northants Volunteer Bureau (SNVB), this free event gives groups the opportunity to gain advice and guidance from over 20 grant giving organisations.

Cllr Peter Rawlinson, SNC’s portfolio holder for finance and procurement, said: “This funding fair was a great success when it was pioneered last year, giving advice to groups and volunteers on how they can apply for grant funding to bring their community projects to life.

“At SNC we understand that it can appear a daunting and sometimes confusing process, but this Funding Fair is here to clear through that confusion and show how possible it is to make their dreams a reality.”

SNC and DDC both have their own community grant schemes. Grant giving organisations currently confirmed to attend are:  the Big Lottery Fund, BBC Children in Need, Heritage Lottery Fund, Grantscape, London Marathon Charitable Trust, Northamptonshire Groundwork, Historic Churches Support, and the Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

There will be presentations throughout the day on how to secure funding, as well as representatives on hand to answer questions and offer advice.

The conference centre at Towcester Racecourse is fully accessible with ample parking.

To avoid disappointment, register for this free event by emailing rburton@daventrydc.gov.uk or call 01327 302257.
