Door Supervisor Licences
From 18 October 2004, all door supervisors have to be licensed with the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
The SIA is an independent body, set up by the Government under the terms of the Private Security Act 2001. This new law brings into force a licensing system for people working in certain sectors of the private security industry in England and Wales. As well as issuing licences, they are responsible for raising standards of training and professionalism across the industry and reassuring the public by preventing unsuitable people from working in the private security industry.
