Volunteering with the Sports Development Team

Develop new skills and give something back to your local community. As a volunteer, you will receive support, advice and often free training.

Volunteering is fun and a great way to make a difference. We have the following opportunities:

Health Walk Leaders - you would be helping people in your community to get active and healthy, providing vital support that they otherwise might not get. As well as ensuring walks are friendly, safe and well run, Walk Leaders are also ambassadors for walking - showing people that walking really can make a big difference to their lives. Email Colin Hull colin.hull@southnorthants.gov.uk or phone on 01327 322337 for more details.

Nordic Walk Leaders - guide a group of trained Nordic walkers and the training consists of a one-day practical course. Contact Colin Hull on 01327 322337 or email colin.hull@southnorthants.gov.uk

Sports Worker - we are also looking for volunteers to assist with our Youth Activators project. You would be working with our Youth Activators or Sports Leaders to deliver activities. Full training will be given. If you are interested please email youth.activators@southnorthants.gov.uk, visit Youth Activators or contact Steve on 07860 916126.

Young People and Volunteering

We support the local VENTURE Academy which gives students in Years 9 and 10 the opportunity to develop their social and personal skills in a variety of practical activities. See Venture Academy for further details .

Young people aged 16 or 17 can sign up to the National Citizen Service (NCS) 2016.

NCS is a once in a lifetime opportunity for young people to build skills for work and life, whilst taking on new challenges and meeting new friends. NCS features residential stays away from home and a project in the local community.

Locally NCS is delivered by MK Dons Sport and Education Trust. Contact Freddie on 01908 622880 or email freddie.mccann@mkdonsset.com.
