How can I claim Housing Benefit
To claim you must tell us about your family, your home, your finances and your capital. You must also provide us with original documents detailed on the Housing Benefits Checklist.
The rules say we can not assess your claim without the proof we ask for in the checklist.

Benefit is normally awarded from the Monday after we receive your form. If you do not have the supporting evidence we require you should still submit your form.
If you think you have a good reason for your claim to be backdated to an earlier date please write to the Benefits Unit as soon as possible stating the reasons for your request in full.
