Website Help

We hope you will find this web site easy to use.

The site is devided into several major areas based around the services we provide. When you enter one of these areas you only see the menu options relevant to that area. You can go back by clicking on the previous page to return to a previous level or on Home to return to the first page of the web site.

Access Keys

This web site has been set up to work with Access Keys. These keys enable you to navigate to parts of the web site using your keyboard.

  • If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 on a PC, press alt and the access key character at the same time
  • If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or higher on a PC, press"alt" and the access key character at the same time, then press the enter key
  • If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 on an Apple Macintosh, press ctrl and the access key character at thesame time
  • For Netscape 6 and Mozilla, use the alt key on a PC, or the ctrl key on an Apple Macintosh

Browsealoud

South Northamptonshire Council's website is now much more accesible to the visually impaired.

Visitors to the site can now download a programme called Browsealoud for free. Browsealoud reads the text of a website out to you over your computer's speakers, making it easier to navigate if you are visually impaired or have difficulties reading.

In order to use Browsealoud, you need:

  • A Windows PC
  • A soundcard and speakers
  • Internet Explorer 4 and upwards or Netscape Navigator
