A forty-foot inflatable obstacle course, bungee trampolines and bouncy castles are just some of the exciting sports and arts activities on offer for children during Playday, organised by South Northamptonshire Council’s SPLAT team.

This free event at the Towcester Recreation Ground will take place on Wednesday, 1 August from 10am to 3.30pm on the national day for play.

This is one of many Playday celebrations taking place throughout the UK over the summer which are giving thousands of children, young people and communities, the chance to get out and play. The theme for this year’s event is Get Out and Play.

Playday is an annual national celebration of children’s right to play and provides a safe environment to be creative outdoors.  There will be something for all age groups and families are welcome to come along for the day and bring a picnic.

There will also be the opportunity to find out what is going on in your area from local community groups and sports clubs.

Anyone wishing to take part should register on the day any time after 10am.  For more information please contact Linda Savage, Assistant Sports Development Officer on 01327 322078 or email linda.savage@southnorthants.org.uk
