Conservation Advice Notes

The following advice has been produced to assist homeowners and members of the public in their dealings with older property. Between them they help to identify, explain and answer many of the common questions often raised in relation to the district's heritage. They are intended to guide those reading them through, amongst other matters, what conservation area designation and listed status means as well as addressing how buildings of traditional construction function. These advice notes will help in the appropriate and effective management of our district's heritage assets, in order to ensure the continued health and longevity of the buildings and areas which make South Northamptonshire special.

The Advice Notes are the starting point to this process and whilst detailed do not cover all aspects of the topic areas presented. It is always advisable to contact our Conservation Team before commencing any works which may affect the significance of a listed building or a conservation area within the district.
