South Northamptonshire Council is refuting claims that a planned move to a new community building in the Moat Lane regeneration area of Towcester will not now go ahead.

Cllr Rebecca Breese, portfolio holder for planning and environment said: “Talks of the council pulling out of a move to Moat Lane are completely inaccurate and unfounded. 
 
“With a project of this size, it was sensible to review it before detailed planning permission is sought – this is standard best practice in any business as it provides a reality check and an opportunity to ensure that every aspect is still suitable.
 
“Upon completion of the review, I can confirm that the size and space of the planned community building at Moat Lane is appropriate for intended use and that South Northamptonshire Council remains 100% committed to the move.”
