14/6/12 - SOUTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2011-12
1. Each year the Council’s accounts are audited and any person interested has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them. For the year ending 31 March 2012 these documents will be available on application to: The Accountancy Department, Finance Division, Council Offices, Springfields, Towcester, Northamptonshire, NN12 6AE between 9.00am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday commencing 2 July 2012 and ending on 27 July 2012.
2. Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:
(i) the opportunity to question the auditor about the accounts. The auditor will be at the Council Offices for this purpose on Monday 30 July 2012 at 10.00am and after that date will be available at the Coalville office until the audit has been completed.
(ii) the right to attend before the auditor and make objections to the accounts or any items in them.
Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.
3. The audit is being carried out by, Neil Bellamy, District Auditor, Audit Commission, Unit 10, Whitwick Business Centre, Whitwick Business Park, Stenson Road, Coalville, LE67 4JP and will be conducted under the provisions of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and the Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2011.
