Local people move into new affordable homes in Blisworth
Dece9

This scheme is an extension to the successful Ladyfield development of 21 homes which were built in 2007. South Northamptonshire Council (SNC), Bromford Housing Group and Blisworth Parish Council have worked together once again to build a further 6 homes for rent.
All homes have been let to local people who meet special local eligibility criteria, agreed between Blisworth Parish Council, South Northamptonshire Council and Bromford Housing Group. This ensures that the properties are available to local residents and people with family ties to the local area.
As the keys to the first property were handed over to the scheme's first new tenant, Cllr Stephen Clarke, chairman of SNC’s Development Control Committee and one of the ward councillors for Blisworth and Roade, said:
“High house prices on the open market and the lack of smaller affordable accommodation in Blisworth mean that many local people on modest incomes are unable to find a home in the village.
“There is a particular lack of affordable rented accommodation and these new rental properties go a long way towards alleviating the shortage. I’m pleased we’ve been able to provide suitable new properties in Blisworth.”
