The region has a thriving community of artists whose work is on display at local galleries and in exhibitions:

The Michael Heseltine Gallery at Chenderit School in Middleton Cheney hosts a range of exhibitions by contemporary artists, craftspeople and photographers.

Cool Contours in Chipping Warden is an arts and crafts centre that offers courses in painting, pottery, crafts, rug making and creative writing. Vitreus Art at Wakefield Country Courtyard, Potterspury, offers a wide range of craft courses and has a gallery shop. Bay Tree Cottage in Farthingstone has a busy programme of courses in crafts, cookery and food.

A popular event in the first weekend of September is the Alderton Art Festival, which includes outdoor theatre on Alderton Mount for their 40th festival in 2016. Local artists and their work can be viewed during the annual South Northants Art Trail in October and some take part in Northamptonshire Open Studios and Trails in September. Salcey Forest has a Sculpture Trail with installations by Linda Johns (see image).

Art Galleries are located in Towcester at Watling Street Galleries, in Brackley at The Right Angle Gallery, which has an ever changing range of 19th and 20th Century art as well as a range of named artists on display;based in a former forge in Culworth, Forge2 is a shop selling a range of original paintings, ceramics, glass, textiles, sculpture and more by selected UK artists.
