From 17 March 2008, we no longer provide council homes for people. This is done by the new housing association, South Northants Homes, who will also be responsible for maintaining the homes.

As a Council, we still have some responsibilities for housing. We still deal with homelessness and maintain the housing register (the waiting list for social housing). Advice is also available on a range of issues to landlords and people who are privately renting their home. We are also involved in producing and delivering the objectives of the housing strategy for South Northamptonshire. Part of this is assessing the housing needs of the District and enabling provision of new affordable housing. We do this in partnership with Parish Councils', Housing Association' (RSLs) and the private sector to provide a stock of houses that meet the needs of our community.
