Have you found any items that might be of archaeological interest?

We will be hosting another ‘Finds Surgery’ on Thursday 2 June, between 2pm - 4pm, at the council’s Springfields office, where members of the public can have their archaeological finds identified and recorded.

At previous Finds Surgeries January and March, several artefacts were brought in and recorded. So if any residents have found a man-made object that may be over 300 years old, they are encouraged to officially record their discovery.

Julie Cassidy, from the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS), will be present to see anyone who wants to discuss their archaeological finds, whether they were found whilst digging in the garden, using a metal detector, or even just noticed whilst on a walk.

For more information about the Finds Surgery, please contact Julie Cassidy on 01604 237249.
