Decisions on the majority of smaller planning applications are made by officers under what is called "delegated powers". Other applications are generally decided by the Development Control Committee.
The Development Control Committee meets every 3 weeks and has 12 members (councillors). To find out who sits on the committee and their background, click on Committee Management System and select the Developement Committee from the options.
You can see the list of decisions for the next committee – and minutes of old meetings - by clicking on Committee minutes, agendas and reports.
If you are planning applicant, an objector or speak for a Parish and Town Council, you could ask to speak at Development Control Committee meetings.
You should not feel obliged to address the Committee but if you wish to do so you must contact Phil Watts, on (01327) 322123, no later than 12 noon two days before the committee meeting, in order to register your intention to speak.
Letters of support or objection are also welcome and will be taken into account.
