Compost Giveaway Day a success!

Despite the weather, hundreds of sacks of locally sourced soil improver were handed out over the day, proving that people from South Northamptonshire are keen gardeners.
Councillor Rebecca Breese, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Waste Management, said: “The Compost Giveaway Day was a fantastic event, encouraging people to get back into their gardens.
“The free soil improver is made from the contents of our green garden waste bins, so residents can use locally produced material to boost the nutrients in their flowerbeds this spring. All we need now is a few sunny days in March to get properly started in our gardens.”
In addition to the giveaway, a big sale was launched in the Reuse Barn Shop, where customers are able to donate good condition second hand furniture and other items as well as purchase discounted items, from sofas, cabinets and tables to golf clubs, toys and mirrors in the ongoing sale.
