More than £4,000 was raised on Friday 11 March at South Northamptonshire Council Chairman's Charity Dinner.

More than 100 people participated at the event, which was held at Towcester Racecourse, with music provided by talented local musician Lincoln Noel and his trio.

South Northamptonshire Council Chairman, Dermot Bambridge, who not only acted as host and but also as auctioneer, said: “I am delighted at the generosity of not only those who attend the evening but also others who sent gifts.

“As a result, my two nominated charities, St John Ambulance Brackley and Towcester Divisions, and the Northampton, Daventry and Towcester Branch of Parkinson’s UK, will benefit well.”

The highlight of the event was an auction, which in itself raised over £2,000 for good causes. Among the top lots were:

Chairman Dermot Bambridge, Mrs Angela Bambridge and Master of Ceremonies, Mr Peter Dyer.
