The Local Development Framework (LDF) for South Northamptonshire is the new way we set out the planning policies and proposals for this area.
It is a good way for us to simplify the range of plans, speed up the process of developing plans and policies, get planning applications dealt with faster and better involve local people in the whole process.
The Frameworks replace the existing system of Local and Structure Plans.
The new frameworks will be "rolled out" over the next three or more years. Existing plans will become less important over the same time.
A Local Development Framework (LDF) will be a portfolio of documents which may be prepared at different times, and cover different subjects and areas, but together provide a "Spatial Strategy" for the district.
