South Northamptonshire Council’s Chairman, Councillor Dermot Bambridge, is hosting a charity dinner in aid of two local charities.

The Towcester and Brackley units of St John Ambulance and the local branch of Parkinson’s UK are the Chairman’s chosen charities for the year, for which he has collected money and held various charity events throughout 2010.

The charity dinner, the first of his fundraising events for 2011, will be held at Towcester Racecourse on Friday 11 March. The very popular Lincoln Noel Trio will be performing throughout the evening, and there will also be a raffle and charity auction.

There will be three amazing main auction prizes, worth over £1000, on offer:
- a Porsche for the weekend donated by Porsche Centre Silverstone,
- a Silverstone Challenge day driving supercars at Silverstone worth £720 donated by Silverstone Circuits
- and a Mercedes GP cap signed by Michael Schumacher and donated by Ross Brawn of Mercedes GP.

Councillor Bambridge said: “I really hope that we get good support for this evening, as it will raise funds for two important local charities, and at the same time be great fun.”

Tickets are £40 per head, which includes a three course dinner, coffee and entertainment.
