Setting standards for tackling anti-social behaviour
Apri8
The Minimum Standards set out expectations for the level of service provided by agencies jointly responsible for dealing with anti-social behaviour as part of the Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Safer Stronger Partnership.
The partnership is made up of organisations including Daventry District Council, South Northamptonshire Council, Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire County Council and aims to tackle issues like crime, anti-social behaviour and alcohol and drug abuse.
The Anti-social Behaviour Minimum Standards are being published by community safety partnerships nationwide in response to central government guidelines.
They pledge to:
- Keep you informed about what is being done to deal with anti-social behaviour in your area.
- Take your reports of anti-social behaviour seriously.
- Respond on a clear priority basis, reflecting an assessment of risk, any repeat incidents and vulnerability. We will tell you what we will do next.
- Respond to complaints that are assessed as a high priority within 24-hours/one working day.
- Keep you informed of progress on action taken within ten working days as a maximum.
- Provide you with a named contact to ensure you can remain in touch about any concerns you may have.
- Work with victims of anti-social behaviour to identify and provide the support they need.
- Maintain strong links between the Council, Police Safer Community Teams and other local partner agencies to ensure that anti-social behaviour is dealt with effectively.
- Publish the specific service standards that you can expect from those responsible for environmental or enforcement issues, such as the removal of graffiti, fly-tipping, noise nuisance and dog fouling on the council’s website.
Jean Morgan, Chair of the Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Safer Stronger Partnership, said: "As a partnership we work together to tackle anti-social behaviour across the area and to reduce crime in particular hot-spots. The new standards demonstrate our commitment to improving quality of life for our residents.
“We hope that local people will work with us to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime in their area.”
The Community Safety Partnership Unit for Daventry District and South Northamptonshire will be monitoring the standards.
